Understanding the critical need to drive growth through various on-line channels, Goodyear is looking to hire a General Manager Ecommerce and Web Platform. This position will be responsible for leading Goodyear's interactive team and agency partners in optimizing/growing Goodyear's direct-to-consumer ecommerce business ( and Retail websites (,, and Roll by Goodyear).

The General Manager is also responsible for the strategy/development of digital capabilities related to the new Goodyear direct-to-consumer models. The incumbent is also charged with identifying consumer trends and introducing new capabilities that meet these trends through digital (websites, applications, displays, etc.) and in the in-store environment, kiosks and online.

These responsibilities involve leadership in strategy development, user experience, technical/graphical development, technology sourcing and on-going operations with the goal of making Goodyear easy to buy, own and recommend. This leadership position is part of Goodyear's growing digital practice responsible for building the value of the Goodyear brand to help our direct-to-consumer entities win in a competitive/evolving market.

Specific duties and responsibilities of the General Manager Ecommerce and Web Platform will include, but not be limited to the following:

•          Responsible for strategy development and initiative oversight of all digital aspects of new Retail concepts (including websites, ecommerce, in-store digital, business planning, content strategy/development, technology to power loyalty programs, website design, customer service, web analytics and web technologies).

•          Develop strategies and team-up with owners for how new concepts will integrate with other Retail properties (ecommerce, company owned stores/websites) and customers.

•          Develop/Execute strategies for all North America Consumer Tire websites (including Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly - United States and Canada). Includes the development/management of Goodyear's digital roadmap that drives substantial growth of key digital key performance indicators (KPIs) - Including ecommerce revenue growth, retail appointment growth, etc.

•          Collaborate with leadership on alignment of Ecommerce/Retail strategy, roadmap, KPIs, performance, business challenges, etc.

•          Establish annual operating plan (AOP) - Budget/Align/Manage resources to the agreed upon plan.

•          Research new interactive capabilities (software, features, services, etc.) that can be added to Goodyear's digital portfolio to continually drive innovation and industry leadership.

•          Develop new technologies that power the Retail experience (including on-line appointment scheduling, site-to-store shopping/buying).

•          Build/Develop a motivated and high-performing team (including both direct and indirect functional reports).

•          Select/Manage all external/internal vendors.

Professional Experience and Competencies:

  • 10 or more years leadership experience in Web development and Ecommerce
  • Proven success at a company where interactive and direct-to-consumer ecommerce were integral to business success
  • Proven experience leading new digital innovations in support of Retail environments
  • Experience building/managing teams that build/grow innovative, industry-leading web solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of key components of ecommerce solutions (ecommerce engines, CMSs, analytics platforms, etc.)
  • Must have strong analytical skills and experience in project management and application of those skills as a business owner
  • Strong understanding of optimization techniques involving A-B and/or multivariate
  • Strong executive presence with proven ability to motivate teams and build alignment toward common goals


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing or related field
  • A Master’s Degree is desired.
