Primary Responsibilities: • Analyze and follow-up on defective material in the plant and initiate corrective action. • Make decisions on product quality through thorough testing and by dispositioning returned goods and non-conforming product • Co-ordinate and run trials, make recommendations and initiate modifications to eliminate waste and improve product uniformity. • Audit process and product to confirm operation to specification, and initiate tire containment if necessary. • Gather and record data, and issue reports based on findings. • Coordinate efforts to contain quality spills / concerns in a timely manner. • Interface with Quality Support Coordinator, Team Leaders, production technicians, production support technicians, Shift Operations managers and business center staff in CMO and TMO on a continuous basis for matters concerning process performance and product acceptability. • Teach, mentor and provide feedback to production technicians regarding internal. process and product specs as well as customer requirements. • Participate in the plant optimization process.

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; preferably in STEM / Engineering or have a minimum of 10 years of related experience in the quality field.

Additional Qualifications: • Process knowledge and experience in more than one area of the plant. • Experience as a permanent / backup QSC, backup SQL, Team Leader, QE tech or other Technology / QTECH position at Goodyear Napanee. • Personal computer skills in a networked environment Microsoft products ( Word, Excel, Outlook and Access ) required. • Demonstrated ability to apply systematic problem solving techniques and tools, process mapping, PFMEA, control plans, measurement system analysis and SPC required. • Experience creating and analyzing data from a DOE. • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical documents. • Strong/Interpersonal and written communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to contribute toward team goals. • Ability to be highly energized and able to communicate to all levels of the organization. • Flexibility in order to respond to the needs of the plant and your assignments must be prioritized in order to support the 24/7 operation. • An understanding of the process, product specifications and an aptitude for troubleshooting.
